Square Graph Paper
Equal horizontal and vertical spacing. Cells stay square when you change page shape.
PAPER WORKSHOP / 01
Create custom graph paper, adjust the spacing and layout, then print or save your finished sheet.
Pointy-top regular hexagons. Adjacent cells share edges.

Zoom changes only the screen scale. Printed and exported sheets keep the physical millimetre size.
For the intended grid measurements, use actual-size or 100% scaling in your browser's print settings. Printer margins and scaling options can affect the final dimensions. This site cannot override every printer setting. Many printers cannot print to the physical page edge; the 10 mm default margin is there for that reason. Dashed margin guides appear only in the on-screen preview unless you leave them visible—they are omitted from SVG, PNG, and print output.
Browser printing to PDF is a print-dialog option, not a separate file generator on this site.

Circles on a rectangular lattice. Not crosses.
Three line families at 0°, +60°, and −60°.
Pointy-top regular hexagons with shared edges.
Origin at the center of the printable area, with optional numbers.
Horizontal rules from the selected page size, optional margin line.
Equilateral triangular lattice with its own side-length control.
Twenty-eight presets. Each one loads real settings into the generator above.
1 inch = 25.4 mm. A monitor preview is not guaranteed to appear at real-world size; printed size depends on output scaling. See the measurement reference for diagrams.
| Topic | Rule |
|---|---|
| Millimeters and inches | US Letter is 8.5 × 11 in (215.9 × 279.4 mm). A4 is 210 × 297 mm. |
| Square spacing | The same millimetre step is used horizontally and vertically. |
| Dot spacing | Center-to-center distance equals the spacing control. |
| Isometric angles | Line directions 0°, +60°, −60°; spacing is perpendicular distance. |
| Hexagon geometry | Side length defines a regular pointy-top hexagon. Width = √3 × side. |
| Coordinate units | One unit equals the spacing. Origin is the printable-area center. |
| Page margins | Printable size is page size minus the four margins. |
| Printer scaling | Use 100% / actual size or the grid will not match a ruler. |
Hardware tolerances and paper handling can still shift the result by a fraction of a millimetre. This site does not guarantee exact physical output on every printer. Full walkthrough: printing guide.
Square grid, 5 mm. Plot simple charts or keep columns aligned.
Square or triangular, 5–8 mm. Sketch polygons with equal sides.
Coordinate plane, 10 mm with numbers. Plot (2, 3) as two units right and three up.
Isometric, 5 mm. Boxes follow the three 60° families.
Hexagonal, 8 mm side. Tile motifs along shared edges.
Dot grid 5 mm or lined 8 mm. Dots recede more than full squares.
Centered numbered plane, 5 mm. Practice quadrants.
These sheets are everyday stationery. They are not a substitute for regulated engineering documentation or professional certification drawings.
Gridline Atelier provides independent browser-based tools for generating printable paper layouts and learning about grid measurements. Seven styles: square, dot, isometric, hexagonal, coordinate, lined, and triangular.
